Job Purpose
The Partnerships Associate will support the Partnerships Manager in managing strategic alliances and resource mobilization efforts in El Salvador. This role is crucial for identifying and developing strategic partnerships, with a particular focus on traditional donors and the private sector. The Associate will be instrumental in driving the development and closure of these alliances, from opportunity identification through negotiation and relationship management, positioning WFP as a valuable partner for impact, ESG, and shared value initiatives. The position also involves supporting innovative financing opportunities, including collaborations with startups and the tech sector, and integrating digital solutions into strategic proposals. Furthermore, the role requires active support in managing partner relationships, preparing strategic positioning materials, and maintaining updated mappings of allies and strategic partners to inform decision-making and resource pipeline development.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and funding opportunities, with a strong focus on traditional donors and the private sector. This involves actively driving the development and finalization of strategic alliances, from initial opportunity identification through negotiation and relationship management. A key aspect is positioning the organization as a valuable partner for impact, ESG, and shared value initiatives. The role also entails supporting the design and implementation of private sector engagement strategies, including identifying and segmenting key companies, developing differentiated value propositions, preparing tailored pitches, and actively managing the opportunity pipeline. Furthermore, it requires identifying and promoting innovative financing avenues, such as collaborations with startups and the tech sector, and integrating digital solutions into strategic proposals. Maintaining and updating stakeholder maps, analyzing influence, and supporting the development of resource mobilization pipelines and tracking dashboards are also crucial. This position requires coordination, reporting, and strategic support, along with performing other duties as needed to advance organizational goals and secure vital resources.
Work Experience
The role requires a minimum of six years of progressive experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships. Emphasis is placed on experience with private sector engagement, resource mobilization, and project coordination. Experience within international organizations, NGOs, government, or the private sector is preferred.
