Job Purpose
The People and Culture Officer (Project) will serve as a strategic lead within the Staff Support Unit (SSU) at UNICEF NYHQ, ensuring effective coordination and communication for a seamless flow of information. This role is crucial for supporting staff during major organizational transitions, such as the HQ Efficiency Initiative and the Future Focus Initiative. The officer will act as a centralized resource, liaising with the Specialized Support Network (SSN) to design and implement staff support frameworks. The primary goal is to provide timely, consistent, and people-centered support and information to staff globally, contributing to the overall efficiency and well-being of the UNICEF workforce during periods of significant organizational change and repositioning.
Responsibilities
The People and Culture Officer (Project) will be responsible for monitoring the daily performance of the Staff Support Unit (SSU), ensuring effective coordination with clients and regularly updating the case management system. Key duties include establishing robust workflows, communication, and coordination mechanisms for seamless service delivery and continuous optimization of the SSU operational framework. The role involves utilizing data analytics to produce regular reports on service delivery trends, informing senior management and HR Business Partners, and employing advanced analytics for predictive forecasting. The officer will serve as the primary technical lead for resolving high-sensitivity or non-standard staff support cases by researching policies, analyzing data, and coordinating with the SSN. This includes interpreting complex HR policies, gathering information for knowledge sharing, and providing prompt support to staff. The officer will also troubleshoot issues, escalate concerns as necessary, and organize regular meetings with focal points, the SSN, and clients to discuss concerns, identify specific requests, and collect lessons learned. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the evolution of the SSU Knowledge Base.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in Human Resources, staff support, or a related field. Experience in managing organizational transitions or providing support during significant change initiatives is highly desirable.
