Job Purpose

The Monitoring Officer will support the global Last Mile Supply Monitoring (LMSM) initiative, focusing on ensuring country office (CO) adoption, continued use, and institutionalization of the solution. This role is crucial for strengthening accountability, delivery assurance, and monitoring of supplies in the last mile. By engaging with COs, compiling user feedback, and supporting the development of training materials, the incumbent will help improve the LMSM platform and its adoption. The position also involves supporting Training of Trainers and collecting learnings from country experiences to inform the global scale-up, ultimately ensuring that supplies reach intended beneficiaries effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

The Monitoring Officer will actively participate in the LMSM team, contributing ideas and flagging potential challenges to support the global initiative. A key responsibility is supporting CO engagement from initial contact through institutionalization, including preparing adoption concept notes, scoping, identifying key variables, and agreeing on adoption calendars. The role involves compiling user feedback to identify necessary enhancements for the platform and materials, and supporting their implementation. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in improving training approaches and developing training materials, while maintaining the platform for sharing guidance. Supporting the delivery of Training of Trainers, both in-country and online, and assisting COs in training implementing partners are also core duties. Finally, the officer will collect learnings from countries already using LMSM to inform the global scale-up through observations, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and perform any other requested duties.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in supply chain monitoring, data analysis, project support, or a related area is required. Experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies is an asset.
