The Division of Global Communication and Advocacy (DGCA) focuses on ensuring young people's perspectives are integrated into UNICEF's communications, advocacy, and campaigns, particularly through the U-Report initiative.
Job Purpose
The Digital Communication Officer (U-Report Data Officer) will provide crucial technical expertise in analytics, monitoring, and evaluation to enhance UNICEF's global U-Report programme. This role involves monitoring and reporting on U-Report's growth and performance, analyzing engagement data to generate actionable insights, and developing data visualizations to support programme teams and decision-makers. The officer will also generate detailed digital performance reports for U-Report platforms and social media, offering insights into audience behavior and emerging trends. Additionally, the position will support Regional and Country Offices in strengthening their monitoring and evaluation practices and effectively utilizing U-Report data to empower young people and inform policy discussions.
Responsibilities
Monitor and report on U-Report's global growth, engagement, and key performance indicators. Assist in the preparation of RapidPro flows for polls and chatbots, ensuring robust monitoring and evaluation structures are in place. Analyze poll results, chatbot interactions, and engagement data to produce actionable insights and comprehensive reports for programme teams, partners, and the U-Report community. Develop compelling data visualizations and narratives to effectively communicate findings to programme teams, partners, and decision-makers. Utilize various digital analysis tools to generate detailed monthly and annual digital performance reports for U-Report's digital platforms (website, online app) and associated social media channels. Provide insights on audience behavior, identify emerging trends, and highlight digital engagement opportunities. Support Regional and Country Offices in enhancing their monitoring and evaluation practices and in the effective utilization of U-Report data to inform advocacy and programme decisions.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in data analytics, statistics, software development, digital analytics, user behavior analysis, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), data visualization, quantitative reporting, social media and campaign analytics, and mobile technology platforms is required. Proficiency in RapidPro and either R or Stata for data analysis is mandatory.
