Job Purpose
The Public Partnership Officer will support the deepening of collaboration with key U.S. Government stakeholders, acting as an interface for knowledge exchange, resource mobilization, and policy influence. This role is crucial for ensuring the documentation of quality programming outputs in line with agreement reporting requirements and providing targeted support for senior staff operations. The position is within UNICEF’s Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization (PPR) Division, specifically supporting the U.S. Government Partnership and working closely with the Programme Group’s Health Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Resilience (HEPR) team. The focus will be on Infectious Disease Outbreak Response and other public health emergency programming, contributing to development and humanitarian funding for Country Offices.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the implementation of work plans for assigned areas, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of results aligned with UNICEF’s partnership strategy and U.S. Government agreement requirements. Build and maintain UNICEF’s partnerships by supporting the development and implementation of standards, guidance, work plans, and strategies. Assist in developing frameworks and templates, and review partner agreements and amendments for senior staff approval, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations. Maintain up-to-date information on partner and income trends, analyze development assistance policies, and update resource partner profiles. Coordinate with the HEPR team on Infectious Disease Outbreak response priorities and U.S.-funded programming to meet donor requirements. Support supervisors in maintaining effective relationships with relevant partners, keeping them informed on strategic operational UNICEF issues. Attend meetings, take notes, share information, and support joint information programs to enhance UNICEF’s profile and protect its interests. Contribute to efforts demonstrating program impact and generate ideas for new synergies to improve program delivery efficiency. Collate and share feedback on program activities and priority issues to inform future UNICEF activities. Gather inputs from UNICEF to contribute to inter-governmental/inter-agency work, ensuring UNICEF positions are represented.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in partnership management, resource mobilization, or program support, preferably within an international organization or NGO context, is required. Experience working with U.S. Government funding mechanisms is an asset.
