Job Purpose
The Contracts Officer will support procurement and contract management activities within UNICEF Haiti's Country Office in Port-au-Prince. This role is crucial for ensuring that essential goods and services are procured and delivered efficiently to support programmes and achieve results for children, especially in a complex and evolving operational environment. The officer will manage procurement processes, monitor contracts, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to the timely and effective delivery of programme and operational objectives, potentially including emergency responses. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant difference for children in Haiti.
Responsibilities
The Contracts Officer will be responsible for supporting timely and cost-effective procurement and contracting activities, including during emergency responses. Key duties include maintaining contract tracking systems and procurement monitoring tools to ensure effective oversight and follow-up of assigned activities. The role involves building and maintaining effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders through strong coordination, communication, and collaboration. Additionally, the officer will provide backup support to Supply and Logistics operations, acting on behalf of the Supply/Logistics Officer when required. This position requires a proactive approach to managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with UNICEF policies and procedures, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the Supply team in Haiti.
Work Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in procurement planning and market optimization is required.
