Job Purpose
The AI Applications Developer will contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of AI-powered applications and services to support UNICEF’s digital transformation goals. This role focuses on the practical implementation of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, including AI-enabled coding, integration of AI models, development of user-facing features, and support for AI-driven automation. The incumbent will also ensure compliance with security, privacy, and ethical standards for responsible AI practices. The position offers an opportunity to apply and grow technical skills in AI application development within a dynamic and collaborative environment, utilizing modern technology and engineering frameworks to deliver impactful and automated solutions.
Responsibilities
Key duties include AI Application Development and Delivery, focusing on designing, building, and deploying AI-driven solutions. This involves Data Processing and Integration, ensuring data is prepared and integrated effectively for AI models. Quality Assurance and Testing are crucial to validate the functionality and performance of applications. The role also encompasses Security and Responsible AI practices, ensuring all AI applications adhere to ethical standards, security protocols, and privacy regulations. Support and Maintenance of deployed AI applications and services are essential for their continued operation. Furthermore, Collaboration and Documentation are required, working with various teams and maintaining clear documentation for developed solutions and processes.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience in Information Communication Technology, AI application development, Python, FastApi, Azure, NextJS, AWS, or related fields is required. Experience in software development within agile environments, understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design principles, backend development with Python frameworks, RESTful API design, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is also necessary.
