Job Purpose
Under the guidance of the Deputy Representative Program, the Programme Officer provides essential technical assistance and professional support in the design, planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of UNICEF's programs. This role is crucial for advancing program goals and objectives through meticulous data analysis and progress reporting. A key focus is on promoting multisectoral, coordinated, and integrated approaches to optimize resource utilization and maximize the impact of interventions, ensuring that UNICEF's efforts effectively contribute to the realization of children's rights and well-being across various sectors and communities.
Responsibilities
The Programme Officer is responsible for Knowledge Management for Programmes, ensuring that lessons learned and best practices are captured and disseminated. They will lead Programme Development and Management, aligning activities with UNICEF's strategic objectives and rights-based approach. A critical duty is ensuring the Optimum Use Of Program Funds, managing budgets effectively and transparently. The role involves rigorous Programme Monitoring and Evaluation to track progress, identify challenges, and inform adjustments. Adherence to a Rights-Based and Results-Based Programme Management Approach is paramount. The officer will also focus on National and Local Capacity Building/Sustainability, empowering local partners and systems. They will champion a Rights Perspective and Advocacy at the National, Community, and Family Levels, promoting child rights in all aspects of work. Finally, fostering strong Partnership, Coordination, and Collaboration with government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders is essential for successful program delivery and impact.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience is required.
