Organizational Context
The Programme Analyst, RHCS, is based in the UNFPA East and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) in Johannesburg. This role provides operational, technical, and analytical support to strengthen reproductive health commodity security in targeted countries. The incumbent will also contribute program management and technical support to the UNFPA Supplies Partnership programme, assisting with the management of a Gates Foundation Grant. Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst, RHCS, plays a crucial role in strengthening reproductive health commodity security across targeted countries within the East and Southern Africa region. This position provides essential operational, technical, and analytical support to ensure the availability of critical reproductive health supplies. The incumbent is instrumental in the successful implementation of the UNFPA Supplies Partnership programme, with a specific focus on managing the Gates Foundation Grant. By contributing to program management and technical oversight, the role directly supports UNFPA's mandate to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health services and information, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst, RHCS, is responsible for providing comprehensive operational, technical, and analytical support to enhance reproductive health (RH) commodity security in designated countries within the East and Southern Africa region. This includes contributing to program management and offering technical assistance for the effective implementation of the UNFPA Supplies Partnership programme. A key aspect of the role involves assisting in the management of the Gates Foundation Grant under the ESARO umbrella. The position also focuses on promoting results-based management, basic monitoring, and the implementation of management systems. Furthermore, the incumbent is expected to generate, manage, and promote the use of knowledge and information relevant to RH commodity security and program delivery.
Work Experience
Minimum of two years of professional experience in programme management, reproductive health, or supply chain management. Experience working at the country level is desirable. Experience in managing grants or donor-funded projects is an asset.
