UN Women is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. The Ending Violence against Women (EVAW) Section focuses on comprehensive approaches to combatting gender-based violence through policy, prevention, survivor services, and strengthening women's rights movements. This role supports a new programme focused on strengthening women's rights movements, coalition building, and advocacy to end gender-based violence.
Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst will provide technical programme implementation support for the Advocacy, Coalition Building and Transformative Feminist Action (ACT) to End Violence Against Women Programme. This involves coordinating advocacy events, and providing results-based monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management support. The role contributes to advancing UN Women's mission by supporting initiatives that strengthen women's rights movements and advocate for the elimination of gender-based violence, ensuring effective programme delivery and cross-regional learning.
Responsibilities
Provide substantive technical support for programme implementation, including advocacy, research, knowledge production, coalition building, and capacity strengthening. Support the organization of advocacy events and the rollout of advocacy strategies in collaboration with partners. Facilitate civil society engagement and cross-regional learning activities. Offer technical oversight and management support for the programme, including input to workplans, budget monitoring, and review of partner reports. Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project partners, and develop technical knowledge and advocacy products. Monitor programme implementation progress and finances using results-based management tools, and establish mechanisms for capturing best practices and learnings. Draft reports on programme results and provide substantive inputs for donor and UN Women reports, as well as the final programme evaluation. Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, and prepare relevant documentation. Support coordination and convening of programme partners to advance shared advocacy agendas and ensure programme coherence. Contribute to advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts by developing background documents and coordinating campaigns and knowledge products. Supervise Programme Associates, assistants, and interns.
Work Experience
Requires at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building. Experience in ending violence against women is essential. Experience in coordinating with civil society organizations, women's rights organizations, and donors is required. Experience in monitoring and reporting for projects and programmes is also required. Developing knowledge management tools and coordinating advocacy initiatives are desirable.
