Organizational Context
This position is within the Analytics and Project Management Service, Business Transformation and Accountability Division (BTAD) of the UN Secretariat's Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC). The role supports evidence-based decision-making, compliance monitoring, and performance reporting, reporting to a P-4 level officer.
Job Purpose
The Associate Management and Programme Analyst's primary purpose is to support the Business Transformation and Accountability Division (BTAD) in its mission to enhance management, policy, and compliance. This involves assisting with the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes and projects, monitoring performance, and analyzing data to inform decision-making. The role contributes to refining communication strategies through performance metrics and analytics, supports quality assurance reviews, and aids in policy development and research. Additionally, the analyst will help prepare various written outputs, support consultative meetings, and coordinate budget and funding activities, ultimately contributing to the division's strategic objectives and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes and projects, monitoring their progress, and identifying issues for corrective action. The role involves supporting the creation and execution of communication strategies, developing performance metrics, and utilizing analytics to enhance effectiveness. The analyst will conduct quality assurance reviews of administrative services, provide strategic analysis of programme performance, and assist with consulting assignments by facilitating workshops and developing action plans. Researching, analyzing, and presenting information from diverse sources, proposing innovative presentation methods, and assisting in policy development are also core duties. Furthermore, the position supports survey initiatives, prepares various written outputs, provides support for meetings and conferences, assists with outreach activities and training, and coordinates budget and funding-related tasks.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressive experience in project/programme management, communications, or administration is required. Experience in drafting communication materials, preparing reports/presentations, and supporting outreach activities is necessary. Proficiency with Power BI for data analysis and reporting is also required. Candidates who have passed the UN Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP) or G to P Examination are exempt from the experience requirement.
