Organizational Context

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Job Purpose

To support critical research governance functions, strengthen ethics review processes, and enhance collaboration across institutional and international networks within PAHO.

Responsibilities

Manage ethics review processes for research and WHO Collaborating Centers, coordinate submission lifecycles, serve as a focal point for WHOCCs and PAHO's Ethics Review Committee, oversee digital systems for ethics review, support committee operations, contribute to research governance frameworks, coordinate with technical units and partners, and support training and knowledge management activities.

Work Experience

Five years of combined national and international work experience in ethics review of research, project management, and management or support of networks using digital tools.

Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of research ethics and governance; technical expertise in electronic management systems and digital platforms; understanding of regional and international normative frameworks; advanced skills in knowledge and information management; knowledge of project and process management; strong analytical, organizational, and quality assurance skills; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
