Job Purpose
The Information Management Officer supports IOM's MPX global or regional programmes by ensuring that information management systems are effective, meet operational requirements, and achieve high user adoption rates. This involves working closely with various stakeholders, including supervisors, regional and country offices, and project managers, to align systems with operational needs. The role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and usability of information management tools, contributing to IOM's mission of promoting humane and orderly migration. The officer will ensure systems are responsive to evolving operational demands and facilitate efficient data management and reporting across diverse and sometimes challenging environments, thereby strengthening IOM's support to people on the move.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Officer will conduct business process modeling and analyze direct assistance workflows to define information management requirements and document functional specifications. Responsibilities include contributing to the development and update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and capacity-building materials, ensuring adherence to IOM’s Data Protection Principles and ethical guidelines. The role involves providing technical guidance and support to regional and country offices, and facilitating the adoption of MiMOSA and IMAP platforms. Additionally, the officer will develop data reports and output functionality, contribute to ad hoc data collection solutions, and ensure data quality and standardization. The position also entails contributing to information products, recommending technical solutions for data management, and potentially undertaking travel.
Work Experience
Experience in migrant assistance, particularly Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) and protection, is required. Desirable experience includes delivering technical trainings, using statistical analysis tools, case management/customer relationship management systems, and Salesforce.
Skills
Excellent qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills, demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports, excellent data management skills including database development and management, and excellent data verification, validation, classification, and transformation skills.
