Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been active in the Central African Republic (CAR) since 2006, addressing migration, humanitarian, and development challenges exacerbated by conflict and instability. IOM CAR is expanding its multi-sectoral response, encompassing humanitarian aid, displacement tracking, migration governance support, community stabilization, and reintegration programs. The Reporting Officer role operates under the Chief of Mission and Head of Project Support Unit.
Job Purpose
The Reporting Officer will provide technical leadership in donor and institutional reporting for IOM in the Central African Republic. This role is crucial for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and results-based accountability in reporting, particularly within a volatile operating environment. The position supports the mission's comprehensive, multi-sectoral response to complex migration and humanitarian challenges, contributing to effective program delivery and stakeholder communication. The role involves coordinating reporting efforts, ensuring compliance with donor and IOM policies, and consolidating programmatic evidence for learning and engagement.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the development and compilation of donor reports, ensuring adherence to donor requirements and IOM policies, with a focus on project reports. Collaborate with Project Managers, M&E staff, and administrative/finance units to ensure narrative and financial reporting coherence. Uphold IOM reporting standards and processes, facilitating timely submission and record-keeping. Monitor reporting calendars, identify risks, and support corrective actions. Consolidate programmatic evidence, success stories, and lessons learned for donor engagement and internal learning. Support Project Managers in utilizing reporting and knowledge management tools. Share knowledge through accurate record-keeping and reporting file management. Provide reporting capacity building and training to IOM staff in coordination with the Regional Office. Perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Experience in supporting results-based project development and reporting, technical writing, and editing, preferably within the international development or humanitarian sector. Experience in donor relations and grant management for specific IOM-relevant donors is also required.
Skills
Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills; ability to prepare clear and concise reports. Basic knowledge of monitoring and evaluation concepts. Confirmed experience in donor report writing in humanitarian/development settings. Experience with Results-Based Management. Strong analytical and planning skills. Ability to establish working relationships with various stakeholders. Capacity to supervise and train staff. Ability to work accurately under pressure. Good computer literacy, including database applications.
