Programme Support Officer (immigration And Border Governance (ibg))
Organizational Context
Established in 1951, IOM is a UN-related organization dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration. IOM Côte d'Ivoire has supported the government since 2017 in developing comprehensive border governance, management, and security strategies. This role supports the Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) portfolio, aligning with IOM's Strategic Plan, the African Union's strategy, and Côte d'Ivoire's National Development Plan.
Job Purpose
The Programme Support Officer (Immigration and Border Governance - IBG) provides essential technical, administrative, and process-related support for the management of diverse IBG projects funded by multiple donors. This role is crucial for strengthening national capacities to address cross-border threats, enhance community resilience, and promote effective border governance. By facilitating safe cross-border movements and engaging border communities, the position contributes to peace, security, regional integration, and sustainable development in line with the 2030 Agenda. The officer works under the direct supervision of the IBG Programme Manager, supporting the overall goals of IOM Côte d'Ivoire's IBG programming.
Responsibilities
Support and coordinate the implementation of assigned IBG projects, ensuring timely delivery of activities and results according to work plans and donor requirements. Monitor project budgets, administrative, and technical aspects in line with IOM policies. Coordinate with other IOM units, UN agencies, and partners for project execution, reporting, and monitoring. Maintain a network of partners, including governmental authorities and civil society, to facilitate collaboration. Participate in field missions for assessments, liaison, and guidance. Draft regular project reports accurately and on time. Contribute to designing and delivering capacity-building activities, workshops, and training sessions on IBG. Manage project information, including awareness campaigns and visibility efforts. Provide technical information for project development and resource mobilization. Participate in conferences and forums to share knowledge and facilitate coordination.
Work Experience
Experience in migration-related work, including operational and field experience. Experience in multi-stakeholder environments, liaising with government authorities and communities. Experience in project coordination, management, and development, including results matrices and context analysis. Monitoring and evaluation experience in international development/humanitarian sectors is required. Experience in the West African Region or the African continent is an advantage.

Understanding of Immigration and Border Governance thematic areas. Excellent multi-actor coordination skills. Excellent writing, reporting, and analytical skills. Good communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and government authorities.
