Organizational Context

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized UN agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger by investing in rural people. The Office of Strategic Budgeting (OSB) strengthens IFAD's budgeting function, linking planning, resource allocation, and results monitoring.

Job Purpose

To support the review of supplementary funds data and agreements, coordinate with divisions for budget-agreement alignment, and prepare/maintain reporting and monitoring tools, including data analytics for AI-supported oversight and budget execution tracking.

Responsibilities

Acts as a Budget Business Partner providing technical and procedural support; manages financial operations including reviewing, approving, reconciling transactions, analyzing programme budgeting implications, and monitoring expenditures; serves as an Agent of Change promoting new methods and automated workflows; supports budget preparation, execution, and resource rationalization; assists in developing consolidated financial reporting systems and preparing position papers for decision-making.

Work Experience

At least two (2) years of progressively relevant experience. Professional experience in accounting, financial management, budget analysis, or management analysis in a multicultural organization or a national organization providing global support is highly desirable.
