The Resource Mobilization and Strategic Engagement Officer plays a key role within the External Relations Unit, strengthening engagement with donors and stakeholders, particularly through forums like G7/G20, to enhance Unitaid's global positioning and secure sustainable revenue streams.

Job Purpose

The Resource Mobilization and Strategic Engagement Officer is responsible for strengthening Unitaid's external relations and resource mobilization efforts. This role involves building and maintaining robust relationships with key partners, including donors and governments, to foster policy and funding cooperation. The officer will monitor global health developments, coordinate stakeholder engagement, prepare strategic materials, and contribute to Unitaid's positioning and financial sustainability. The ultimate goal is to support Unitaid's mission by ensuring predictable and high-value revenue streams, thereby enhancing access to critical health products worldwide.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include building and nurturing relationships with strategic contacts in donor institutions and international bodies, such as G7/G20 governments, to facilitate policy and funding cooperation. The role involves monitoring and analyzing global health and development trends relevant to Unitaid's priorities. Additionally, the officer will coordinate engagement with external stakeholders, prepare necessary materials for meetings and events, and maintain consistent communication with partners. Tracking partner activities, commitments, and opportunities for collaboration, contributing to strategic engagement plans, and supporting Unitaid's Next Generation Financing agenda are also crucial. The position requires preparing written materials like briefing notes and concept notes for governance committees and performing other assigned duties.

Work Experience

Requires at least five years of experience in external relations or partnerships within an international context. A proven track record of engaging government officials and other development actors to secure funding is necessary. Minimum of two years of experience in public health is also required, along with demonstrated experience in preparing strategic written materials and organizing high-level events. Direct experience in global health is desirable.

Skills

Strong understanding of external relations, partnership management, and strategic communication. Ability to analyze political and technical mechanisms influencing decision-making. Excellent analytical and strategic writing skills. Capacity for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of WHO/Unitaid procedures is an asset.
