Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Senior Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services for the Head of the WHO Country Office, authorized personnel, and visitors. This includes driving for official duties, field visits, and airport transfers, ensuring all necessary vehicle documentation and maintenance are up-to-date. The role also involves assisting with clerical and general office tasks as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of the WHO office in Lebanon.
Responsibilities
Provide secure and reliable driving services for the Head of WHO Country Office, authorized personnel, and visitors, including transport for field visits and delivery/collection of documents. Facilitate airport arrivals and departures, managing immigration and customs formalities as required. Maintain assigned vehicles through regular checks, minor repairs, and scheduling major maintenance. Ensure all vehicle documents, supplies, and safety equipment are current and available. Complete monthly vehicle data forms accurately. Report any incidents or accidents according to established procedures. Offer clerical and general office support to staff as needed.
Work Experience
Essential: A minimum of two years of professional driving experience with a proven safe driving record. Desirable: Previous experience driving for WHO or another United Nations agency.
Skills
Proficiency in local traffic regulations and country topography. Knowledge of protocol and organizational security standards for drivers. Mechanical aptitude for vehicle operation and maintenance. Ability to interact positively with diverse clients. Skill in writing concise incident reports. Ability to read and understand instructions in the working language (Arabic and English).
