Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to serve as the lead rapporteur for a joint sub-regional and global closing meeting on dental amalgam elimination. The role involves documenting project outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future actions. The consultant will produce a comprehensive suite of deliverables, including a press release, professional event photography, and a final analytical report, ensuring high-quality, publication-ready documentation that aligns with WHO standards and supports the project's objectives of reducing mercury pollution and integrating oral health into global health policies.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for providing comprehensive reporting and documentation for the joint closing meeting. This includes real-time note-taking, preparing technical documents for pre-meeting discussions, and ensuring professional photographic coverage of sessions, speakers, and group work. A key duty is producing a final analytical report (maximum 25 pages) detailing key messages, recommendations, and next steps. The consultant must also manage the editing and layout of all deliverables according to WHO standards, submitting final files in PDF, editable Word, and InDesign formats, along with high-resolution photos. This role requires effective communication, results-oriented work, teamwork, and efficient resource management.
Work Experience
Essential: Minimum of 5 years in technical writing and reporting, with proven experience in large organizations. Desirable: Experience with WHO, UN, or other international organizations; proven experience in institutional communication, technical writing, meeting management, and documentary project management to produce deliverables meeting international standards.
Skills
Technical writing and reporting, professional note-taking, analytical and synthesis skills, institutional communication, meeting management, event photography, desktop publishing (e.g., InDesign), project management, ability to work under pressure with short deadlines. Excellent English proficiency (oral and written) is essential; good French knowledge is desirable.
