The World Health Organization (WHO) is recruiting for an Assistant Human Resources position within the Democratic Republic of Congo. This role supports the administrative and operational aspects of the response efforts in Bunia, Beni, Butembo, and Goma, aiming to strengthen existing administrative teams and address urgent needs.
Job Purpose
The Assistant Human Resources role is crucial for supporting the recruitment process, managing personnel files, and ensuring compliance with HR procedures. The position aims to bolster the administrative capacity of the response teams in multiple locations across the Democratic Republic of Congo. By efficiently handling recruitment, contract management, database updates, and providing administrative support to staff, this role directly contributes to the smooth operational functioning of WHO's emergency response efforts. The incumbent will ensure accurate record-keeping, facilitate onboarding, and support overall HR functions to meet the organization's objectives.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the entire recruitment process from advertising to pre-selection and tracking. The role involves managing and filing personnel records, including contracts and administrative documents. Preparing and monitoring documents for staff engagement, contract renewals, and separations is essential. Maintaining and updating HR databases and tracking tools for staff numbers, contracts, absences, and deployments is a core duty. The position also requires supporting the preparation of administrative documents for personnel, ensuring compliance with procedures, and tracking staff attendance and leave. Additionally, the role involves supporting the onboarding of new staff, providing administrative HR assistance to employees, collaborating with team leads on staffing needs, preparing HR reports, and maintaining the confidentiality of personnel information. Supporting other HR activities for the emergency response is also expected.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources within a public or private administration, or an NGO, is essential. Experience in other areas like program management, or with WHO or another UN agency, is desirable.
Skills
