WHO Indonesia is supporting the Ministry of Health in revising national HIV clinical guidelines and regulations. Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to serve as the Lead Writer and technical coordinator for the revision of Indonesia's National Clinical Practice Guideline for HIV and Opportunistic Infections (PNPK HIV-IO) and the Ministerial Regulation on HIV Prevention and Control (Permenkes No. 23/2022). This involves synthesizing the latest global evidence, including the 2025 WHO Consolidated Guidelines on HIV, and incorporating advancements in ART, opportunistic infection management, and service delivery models. The role is critical for ensuring that national standards reflect current best practices, support the achievement of the 95-95-95 targets, improve patient outcomes, and align with national health financing mechanisms like BPJS Kesehatan.
Responsibilities
Lead the technical revision process for the National Clinical Practice Guideline for HIV and Opportunistic Infections (PNPK HIV-IO) and the Ministerial Regulation on HIV Prevention and Control (Permenkes No. 23/2022). Coordinate closely with the Ministry of Health, WHO, and an expert panel to integrate the 2025 WHO Consolidated Guidelines on HIV and other new evidence. Ensure the revised documents address updated ART regimens, management of advanced HIV disease and opportunistic infections, and evolving standards for special populations (pediatrics, pregnant women, key populations). Facilitate the incorporation of new diagnostic tools and strategies, such as triple combination RDTs and updated Early Infant Diagnosis approaches. Ensure alignment with national health financing policies, particularly BPJS Kesehatan reimbursement. Manage stakeholder engagement and ensure timely completion of the revision process.
Work Experience
Minimum of 10 years of relevant clinical and/or research experience in HIV management. Essential experience includes active affiliation with an Indonesian university or academic medical center, proven track record in producing clinical guidelines or publications, and strong knowledge of the Indonesian health system, including Kemenkes and BPJS Kesehatan. Prior engagement with the Ministry of Health in guideline development or policy advisory is also essential.
