This role supports BOS operations.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for providing comprehensive video, audio, and webcasting services for internal and external meetings and conferences held at the UN City and other WHO locations. The purpose is to ensure seamless technical support for all events, including planning, setup, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment. This includes managing and troubleshooting AV systems, recording key meetings, and liaising with clients and external contractors to meet technical requirements and enhance conferencing services. The role contributes to the effective communication and successful execution of WHO's global health initiatives by ensuring high-quality technical delivery of events.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to provide and operate video, audio, and webcasting equipment for meetings and conferences at the UN City and other WHO locations. This involves planning, organizing, and implementing technical support for events. Key duties include managing and maintaining AV and interpretation systems, cameras, microphones, projectors, and tele/video conferencing equipment. The role requires liaising with AV companies for repairs, suggesting equipment upgrades, and assisting with new equipment deployment. Additionally, it involves programming and operating AV systems, managing webcasting and videoconferencing, recording important meetings, and rearranging conference halls to meet technical specifications. The incumbent will also collaborate with staff at all levels for service improvement, participate in planning meetings, and create technical setup drawings. Travel to other locations for AV support during key meetings is also required, along with acting as a technical resource for management on AV systems and services.
Work Experience
Essential: Minimum of five years of experience operating video/audio/webcasting equipment for meetings and conferences. Experience coordinating external contractors and technicians is also required. Desirable: Experience within WHO or the UN system, and experience supporting international conferences in various locations.
Skills
Essential: Webcasting technology, videoconferencing, conference systems (wired, wireless, infrared, HF), audio-visual digital editing and recording, sound production (PA systems/amplifiers), and photo/videography. Desirable: Proficiency in Visio software or equivalent.
