Organizational Context
The World Health Organization (WHO) is the UN's specialized agency for health. The WHO Indonesia Country Office supports the Indonesian government in health policy formulation, implementation, and evaluation, setting standards, and building institutional capacity. Job Purpose
This role provides technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and partners on adolescent and reproductive health programs. It involves developing policies, fostering relationships with youth organizations, advocating for adolescent health, adapting WHO guidelines, coordinating evidence generation, and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans. The position aims to strengthen collaborative programs and integrate adolescent and reproductive health across various technical areas.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and partners on adolescent and reproductive health programs, including health promotion, adolescent-friendly services, and school health. Develop and implement reproductive health policies, such as family planning and cervical cancer prevention. Foster relationships with youth organizations to empower adolescents in health initiatives. Advocate for adolescent health, including mental health and nutrition. Adapt WHO guidelines and tools for national contexts. Coordinate evidence generation and disseminate successful initiatives. Design and implement monitoring and evaluation plans. Develop technical briefs and communication materials. Build networks and strengthen collaboration with government, UN agencies, and NGOs. Support the technical and administrative implementation of collaborative programs. Integrate adolescent and reproductive health into existing programs across the organization.
Work Experience
Essential: At least 2 years of experience in public health program implementation, preferably in adolescent and/or reproductive health at the national or subnational level. Desirable: Additional years of experience in public health or clinical adolescent/reproductive health programs, experience with youth groups, and prior work in UN agencies or international development organizations.
