Job Purpose
The Associate Rehabilitation Officer will coordinate with Ukrainian government agencies and other stakeholders on training and reporting for rehabilitation and assistive technology programs. This role supports the implementation of WHO activities related to rehabilitation, aiming to address the needs of the rehabilitation population in Ukraine. The position involves organizing expert deployments, facilitating capacity-building initiatives for healthcare facilities and personnel, and contributing to policy dialogue and information exchange to promote health equity and improve rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting the Technical Officer on Disability and Rehabilitation in implementing WHO activities for rehabilitation and assistive technologies, including those within the Biannual Collaborative Agreement. This involves organizing training and capacity-building sessions for local rehabilitation personnel and healthcare facilities, coordinating initiatives for multidisciplinary training centers and hospitals, and supporting the production of reports for donors and WHO bodies. The role also entails collecting and analyzing data related to rehabilitation needs, collaborating with disability organizations to develop support programs, and managing WHO missions and follow-ups.
Work Experience
Essential: At least one year of clinical experience as a rehabilitation professional. Desirable: Experience in an international organization (WHO/UN, governmental, NGO), coordination and reporting on capacity building or assistive technologies, project management in the humanitarian sector, or previous emergency/humanitarian response experience.
Skills
Excellent analytical and writing skills; ability to work in uncertain and rapidly changing environments; strong stakeholder interaction skills; data management and analysis capabilities; proficiency in standard computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations); emotional intelligence.
