Organizational Context
The World Health Organization's Division of Pacific Technical Support (WHO-DPS) is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation and Data Analyst TB Officer in Fiji. This role, based at Twomey Hospital, will provide essential technical and administrative support for ongoing and upcoming Tuberculosis control programs and projects, including those related to TB-HIV.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical and administrative support for the monitoring and evaluation of Tuberculosis control programs in Fiji. The incumbent will ensure the timely collection, verification, and analysis of data, contributing to effective program management and reporting. This includes supporting data quality assurance, developing M&E tools, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure reliable information for decision-making and progress reporting, ultimately strengthening TB control efforts.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include implementing data collection methods, verifying data accuracy, and improving data analysis to provide timely and reliable information for program management. The role involves performing data entry and quality assurance in information management systems, and developing tools to support programmatic activities. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders for data collection and reporting, manage data verification activities, and contribute to the Global TB Report. This includes assisting in reviewing work plan implementation, results, and expenditures, and ensuring the full implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans.
Work Experience
Essential: At least 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, and analysis within public health or a related project. Proficiency in data management software (e.g., Excel) or statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, STATA) is required. Desirable: Experience in developing M&E frameworks, reports, and presentations, and prior work in a TB program or similar public health initiative.
Skills
Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, proficiency in technical report preparation and presentations, ability to develop and implement training programs, and strong organizational skills for task prioritization and deadline management. Competencies include Communication, Fostering Integration and Teamwork, Producing Results, Self-Management, and Partnership Building.
