Job Purpose
This role supports the coordination of technical activities and scientific collaboration within the Division of Health Promotion, Disease Prevention and Care (PPC). The incumbent will facilitate partnerships, develop technical briefs and evidence summaries, and coordinate inputs for reports. The position also involves leading reviews, providing editorial and scientific support for high-level documents, and liaising with regional and country offices to ensure the relevance and uptake of technical outputs. The role contributes to advancing WHO's scientific agenda and divisional priorities through effective coordination and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
Facilitate coordination of cross-cutting technical activities and foster collaboration on shared projects. Support scientific collaboration by facilitating partnerships and joint production of technical guidance, tools, and publications. Develop high-quality technical briefs and scientific evidence summaries. Coordinate technical inputs for divisional reports, ensuring coherence and accuracy. Lead scoping and rapid reviews, synthesizing evidence for policy and technical guidance. Provide editorial and scientific review for briefing notes for senior leadership. Liaise with regional and country offices to ensure relevance and uptake of technical outputs. Perform other technical duties as assigned to support divisional priorities and WHO's scientific agenda.
Work Experience
Essential: Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in international public health, including engagement with WHO or comparable global health agencies. Desirable: Experience in a 'front-desk' office, coordinating global health activities across different levels, and leading public health projects.
Skills
Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders. Experience in evidence retrieval, literature/scoping reviews, and technical product development. Ability for scientific review and judgment. Excellent writing, editorial, and analytical skills. Experience as a technical or editorial lead on high-level documents. Demonstrated management capabilities, including mentoring.
