Job Purpose
The Communication Officer will provide operational support for communications planning, including developing planning tools, procedures, and processes for media monitoring and crisis management. This role contributes to the annual corporate communications strategy and thematic communication strategies, ensuring quality assurance for translations and producing various communication materials. The officer will also play a proactive role in developing the annual report and contributing to communications and stakeholder engagement strategies, ultimately supporting Unitaid's mission to improve global health outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide operational support for communications planning, including developing planning tools, procedures, and processes for media monitoring and crisis management. Contribute to the development of annual corporate and thematic communication strategies. Ensure quality assurance of translations and manage external service providers. Draft a wide range of communication materials, such as website content, talking points, news releases, brochures, and fact sheets. Develop communications and stakeholder engagement strategies. Play a proactive role in conceptualizing, planning, and producing the annual report. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Essential: At least five years of experience in communications or stakeholder engagement at the national or international level. One year of experience working in multicultural teams is required. Demonstrated experience in global health or international development health issues and proven ability to write about complex technical issues for diverse audiences are also essential.

Excellent writing skills, ability to simplify complex technical issues, strong analytical and planning capabilities, political awareness, effective communication with diverse audiences, knowledge of global health issues (HIV, TB, malaria preferred), ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, teamwork, and flexibility.
