Job Purpose
The consultant will lead Unitaid's malaria product launch transparency initiative (LAUNCH). This involves coordinating with internal WHO teams and external partners to foster buy-in, encourage information sharing, and provide regular updates to the malaria community. The role is crucial for enhancing market transparency by systematically collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information on product pipelines, regulatory status, procurement patterns, and country demand. This effort aims to reduce uncertainty, align incentives, and support evidence-driven decision-making, ultimately contributing to greater resilience in malaria intervention access, especially as traditional funding sources may diminish.
Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of Unitaid's malaria product launch transparency initiative (LAUNCH). Coordinate with internal malaria teams and other WHO expertise. Engage extensively with partner agencies to build buy-in, facilitate information exchange, and provide status updates to the malaria community. Systematically collect, analyze, and disseminate critical market information, including product pipelines, regulatory status, procurement patterns, and country demand. Develop and update a transparency dashboard with product development and market entry data. Identify and update gaps in critical access pathways for key product areas. Facilitate regular virtual meetings with core stakeholder groups and provide updates to the broader partner community. Prepare and submit annual progress reports and conduct internal project evaluations.
Work Experience
Essential: Minimum 7 years in health strategies focusing on healthcare tools, with experience coordinating global health partners. Minimum 5 years in introducing new malaria interventions, including regulatory and procurement mechanisms. Minimum 3 years in designing market-based projects for healthcare access in resource-limited settings.
