Organizational Context
The Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM&PR) function is vital for maintaining a common operational picture of WFP operations. With Country Offices reporting directly to senior leadership, a streamlined information flow is essential for strategic decision-making, preparedness, and response in a dynamic humanitarian environment. This role supports that critical function.
Job Purpose
The OIM & Performance Reports Officer will support all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities within the country office. This role is crucial for establishing and presenting a standard operational picture of WFP's programme portfolio and its associated results. By ensuring the quality, consistency, and standardization of information management and performance reporting, the incumbent will facilitate informed and timely decision-making at all organizational levels. Key responsibilities include collating and analyzing data from various sources, supporting the preparation of key reports like the Annual Corporate Report, and enhancing the capacity of staff and partners in OIM & PR best practices. The officer will also contribute to improving OIM & PR processes and ensuring defined quality standards are met, ultimately supporting WFP's mission to save lives and change lives.
Responsibilities
The role involves ensuring adherence to standard Operational Information Management (OIM) and Performance Reporting (PR) procedures and templates to maintain quality, consistency, and standardization across WFP operations. Key responsibilities include collating and disseminating relevant information and data from various sources to enhance information flow and operational awareness, particularly concerning events with humanitarian or operational impact. The position supports the collation and analysis of political and humanitarian trends, donor policies, and country-specific inputs for operational reporting. It also involves gathering, analyzing, and communicating essential information about the operational environment and available assets to facilitate timely and accurate decision-making at both country and corporate levels. Furthermore, the role contributes to the preparation of the Annual Corporate Report (ACR), collaborates with internal counterparts to ensure information consistency, and supports capacity building for WFP staff and partners in OIM & PR. This includes providing secretarial support during emergencies and contributing to the development of improved OIM & PR initiatives and guidance, all while ensuring defined quality standards are met.
Work Experience
Requires a total of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year in professional international humanitarian development. Candidates should possess general knowledge of information management best practices, strong English communication and report writing skills, and the ability to quickly learn UN/WFP specific processes and systems.
