Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Officer (On-Demand Service Provision) will coordinate and manage the end-to-end On-Demand Service Provision (ODS) activities within the WFP Palestine Country Office. This role is crucial for supporting humanitarian actors by providing fast, scalable, and reliable supply chain solutions, especially in complex and evolving operational contexts. The incumbent will manage ODS data systems, ensure data quality, and provide technical guidance to clients on utilizing WFP's ODS System. Responsibilities include monitoring stock movements, improving service data quality, assisting with budget preparation, maintaining accurate records, and assessing logistics needs of humanitarian actors. The position also involves supporting capacity building for WFP staff and partners, fostering relationships with logistics colleagues, and ensuring compliance with WFP rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a consultant to support its On-Demand Service Provision (ODS) activities within the Supply Chain Unit in Palestine, based in East Jerusalem. This role involves coordinating ODS activities, managing the end-to-end process from demand assessment to service delivery, and ensuring compliance with WFP regulations. The job holder will manage ODS data systems, trackers, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring data quality and integration. They will also provide technical guidance to clients on using the WFP ODS System (UN Booking Hub) and liaise with HQ support teams. Key responsibilities include monitoring stock movements, improving service data quality, contributing to operational planning, and providing operational support to field offices. The role also entails assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, maintaining accurate records of all documents, and performing monthly reconciliations of non-donor grants. Furthermore, the position requires assessing logistics gaps and needs of humanitarian actors, tailoring CO services, and supporting capacity building for WFP staff and partners. Building productive relationships with logistics colleagues is also essential for an integrated approach to food assistance. The application deadline is September 8, 2026.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of postgraduate professional experience is required in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. This includes experience in analyzing operational contexts and trends, budget monitoring, reporting, project management, and various logistics functions such as freight-forwarding, warehouse and inventory management, goods handling, and contracting. Experience working with clients, managing queries, and building rapport is also necessary.
