These positions are based in WFP regional, country, area, and field offices. Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide safe and efficient transportation services for authorized personnel and/or goods. This involves operating various vehicles, including light vehicles, trucks, vans, and motorcycles, and potentially watercraft like speedboats. The driver will adhere to authorized itineraries and UN safety regulations, ensuring secure and efficient transit. Key duties include picking up and dropping off passengers and items, assisting officials and visitors with airport formalities and visa processing, and maintaining accurate vehicle logs. The role also requires meticulous care of the assigned vehicle and its equipment, performing routine maintenance, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues. Additionally, the driver may be tasked with basic administrative support, such as filing, photocopying, managing warehouse organization, handling mail, and paying office bills, contributing to overall administrative efficiency. A valid driver's license and a minimum of two years' driving experience, preferably within an international organization, are essential. Proficiency in local driving regulations, safety protocols, and basic first aid is also required.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of two years of work experience as a driver, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or UN system, with a proven safe driving record. Experience driving various vehicle makes and models, including vans and trucks, is necessary. Defensive driving experience is a plus.
