Job Purpose
The IT Operations Assistant will provide high-quality technical support and system/data maintenance across various IT areas. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of IT services within the organization. Responsibilities include performing system maintenance, monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization to ensure efficient operation. The assistant will also maintain technology through standard repairs and configurations, adhering to security protocols. Additionally, they will manage inventory and archives, respond to user queries, provide basic user training, and support hardware/software deployments. This position contributes to maintaining accurate information records, operating telecommunications systems, and developing IT support materials, ultimately supporting WFP's mission by ensuring robust and reliable IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking individuals to provide high-quality technical support and system maintenance, contributing to the effective delivery of IT services. Key responsibilities include performing system maintenance tasks like monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization to ensure efficient operation. Job holders will maintain technology through standard repairs, configuration, and storage, adhering to data security and access controls to ensure IT equipment availability for staff. They will also prepare files and systems for inventory and archives, ensuring information accuracy and currency. A crucial aspect involves allocating tasks to colleagues, ensuring adherence to standards and deadlines, and responding to technology-related queries to assist WFP staff. Additionally, responsibilities include providing standard end-user training, performing routine deployments of server hardware and software with testing, and maintaining information records such as web pages and databases. The role also involves supporting the development of training documentation and web content, suggesting process improvements for continuous IT service enhancement, and following emergency response procedures to support humanitarian aid delivery.
