Job Purpose
The Monitoring Assistant (Community Feedback Mechanism) will support WFP Liberia's Country Office by strengthening evidence generation and data-driven decision-making within the Research, Assessment, and Monitoring (RAM) Unit. This role is crucial for ensuring accountability to beneficiaries, donors, and stakeholders by collecting, verifying, analyzing, and reporting programme performance data. The incumbent will conduct field monitoring, support various surveys and assessments, maintain data accuracy in corporate systems, and prepare essential reports. Additionally, the position involves strengthening community engagement and documenting operational issues and best practices, ensuring that WFP's humanitarian assistance is effective and responsive to the needs of those it serves.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring Assistant (Community Feedback Mechanism) role at the World Food Programme (WFP) is crucial for strengthening evidence generation and data-driven decision-making within the Liberia Country Office. This position supports the Research, Assessment, and Monitoring (RAM) Unit by collecting, verifying, analyzing, and reporting on programme performance data. Key responsibilities include conducting field monitoring visits to assess programme implementation, track progress against indicators, and evaluate the quality and quantity of assistance provided to beneficiaries. The assistant will also support various monitoring exercises such as household surveys and post-distribution monitoring, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness by managing corporate databases. Furthermore, the role involves preparing monitoring reports, dashboards, and situation updates, contributing to regular reporting cycles. A significant aspect of the job is strengthening community engagement and cooperating partner relationships, documenting operational issues, best practices, and concerns related to gender and the environment. Maintaining confidentiality and protection standards when handling sensitive information is also paramount. The position requires a secondary school education, experience in analyzing program data, and a general understanding of monitoring and evaluation systems, with fluency in English being essential.
Work Experience
The role requires experience in analyzing program output and outcome data, along with a general understanding of monitoring and evaluation systems and standards. Fluency in both spoken and written English is also necessary. A secondary school education is the minimum educational requirement.
