Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (VAM Data Analyst & Reporting) will contribute to the development and implementation of VAM projects and activities, ensuring alignment with WFP policies. This role involves supporting the creation of systems and tools for monitoring and assessing food assistance needs, utilizing innovative methodologies. The associate will assist in food security and vulnerability analysis, preparing timely reports to inform strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include coordinating data gathering, maintaining quality standards, liaising with partners, and supporting capacity building for staff and government institutions in vulnerability analysis. The position also requires acting in emergency response capacities as needed and performing other related duties to ensure effective humanitarian assistance and program delivery.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate (VAM Data Analyst & Reporting) will play a crucial role in supporting the World Food Programme's (WFP) mission in Liberia. This position involves contributing to the development and implementation of VAM (Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping) projects and activities, ensuring they align with WFP's global policies and strategies. A key responsibility is to support the creation and enhancement of systems and tools for monitoring and assessing food assistance needs, utilizing innovative methodologies and best practices. The role requires active participation in food security and vulnerability analysis, producing timely reports to inform strategic decision-making for country strategies, policies, and programs. The associate will assist in coordinating data gathering and monitoring systems, upholding rigorous quality standards. Collaboration with implementing partners, both internal and external, is essential for monitoring ongoing projects, ensuring efficiency, and identifying potential risks. Furthermore, the position involves capacity building for WFP staff, partners, and national government entities in conducting vulnerability analysis to strengthen preparedness and response activities. The role also supports sharing experiences and best practices related to food security and nutrition issues and may require participation in emergency response efforts as needed. The position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis software, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for effective humanitarian assistance and development initiatives.
Work Experience
Requires 6 years of related work experience. Proficiency in Tableau, quantitative data analysis software (SPSS, STATA, R), and qualitative data analysis software (NVivo, MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti) is mandatory. Experience with Python is also required. Additional programming language experience is a plus. Experience in designing and conducting advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses, and generating evidence-based dashboards and reports is highly desirable.
