Job Purpose

A key responsibility is to strengthen Food Security Committee structures in camps and act as a supervisor for the Community Feedback Mechanism to ensure timely resolution of issues and accountability to affected populations. The role also entails leading rapid response efforts for GFA, strengthening emergency preparedness, and supporting innovative initiatives like Fresh-Food Corners, while fostering strong relationships with government stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The role involves leading the operational aspects of General Food Assistance (GFA) activities, ensuring compliance with World Food Programme (WFP) standards and procedures, including accountability to affected populations (AAP) and feedback mechanisms. Key responsibilities include overseeing monthly e-Voucher distributions, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and managing rapid response for GFA activities, encompassing pre-positioning and emergency preparedness in collaboration with local authorities. The position also supports the expansion of innovative initiatives like Fresh-Food Corners and e-voucher activities. Building and maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders is crucial, as is managing partnerships with Cooperating Partners (CPs), facilitating Field Level Agreements (FLAs), and evaluating their performance. Capacity strengthening of CPs, particularly local NGOs, through workshops and guidance on WFP operational practices is essential. The role requires sustaining Refugee Food Security Committees (RFSCs) for participatory approaches and acting as a point of contact for operational queries and problem resolution. Furthermore, the incumbent will supervise the Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) for GFA-related issues, ensuring timely and quality resolutions, and mainstreaming AAP, Gender, Protection, and Disability Inclusion. Leading and motivating the GFA Operation Team, mentoring staff, and supporting their development are also key duties, alongside facilitating external and internal missions and performing other GFA-related tasks as-needed tasks.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, focusing on the planning, design, and implementation of humanitarian or development programs. Desired experience includes country-level implementation in developing nations, managing in-kind food, cash, and voucher transfers, team leadership, partnership building, and utilizing digital solutions for cash-based assistance. Experience with community feedback mechanisms and WFP's corporate assistance transfer platform is also beneficial.
