Job Purpose
The Human Resources Officer (SC8) will support the Head of Human Resources in Yemen by managing and enhancing the Performance Management and Learning & Development portfolios. This role involves partnering with managers to implement HR solutions aligned with WFP's corporate priorities, ensuring effective delivery of HR services. Key responsibilities include supporting performance management processes, providing guidance on objective setting and feedback, and administering conditions of service. The officer will also contribute to staff capability building through learning needs analysis and development solutions, support onboarding and career development initiatives, and assist with succession planning. Additionally, the role requires data collation for reporting and basic data analysis to support HR activities and process improvements, ensuring alignment with WFP policies and business needs.
Responsibilities
The Human Resources Officer (SC8) role at the World Food Programme (WFP) in Aden, Yemen, focuses on supporting the delivery of professional and client-focused Performance Management and Learning & Development portfolios. This position partners with managers to implement HR solutions aligned with WFP's corporate priorities. Key responsibilities include supporting performance management operational activities, contributing to the development and implementation of performance management processes, and guiding staff and managers on objective setting, appraisals, and feedback. The role involves responding to HR queries, administering conditions of service related to performance management, and supporting staff capability building through learning needs analysis and development solutions. Additionally, the officer will support onboarding activities to ensure smooth integration of new employees, assist with career development initiatives and succession planning, and collate data for accurate HR reporting. The position requires basic data analysis skills to support projects and process improvements. The role emphasizes ensuring employees' objectives align with organizational goals and fostering continuous improvement and development within the workforce. The officer will also contribute to managing the employment relationship between WFP and its staff, ensuring policies and procedures are correctly applied.
Work Experience
Requires a total of 5 years of relevant experience, including 1 year of postgraduate professional experience in Human Resources. Desired experience includes responding to HR inquiries, coaching new staff, and providing administrative and systems support for activities like training, performance management, and policy implementation within a country office. Interest in international humanitarian development is also sought.
