Job Purpose
The Senior Communications Associate will drive the planning, development, and implementation of WFP Lebanon's digital communications and content production. This role is crucial for enhancing the organization's visibility, ensuring donor recognition, and fostering engagement with key audiences across digital and traditional media. Responsibilities include managing social media, identifying compelling stories, proposing and executing digital campaigns, and producing high-quality strategic communication materials. The incumbent will ensure donor visibility requirements are met, support media relations, and contribute to strategic messaging aligned with corporate standards, effectively communicating WFP's operational impact and the contributions of its partners.
Responsibilities
The Senior Communications Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing specialized communication activities and campaigns to support target audiences. This role involves liaising with media and key constituents to disseminate information about WFP's activities, policies, and operations. The associate will coordinate event planning, ensuring necessary resources and materials are available. They will provide expert support for the production of video, photographic, and radio projects. Monitoring traditional and social media is crucial for reporting relevant information to senior staff and informing communication strategies. The associate will prepare and develop content for various media platforms to enhance coverage and support WFP's work, ensuring consistency with corporate messages and cost-effectiveness. They will also advise on and promote communications guidelines, maintain accurate records, and manage information requests from stakeholders. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders is key to delivering aligned communication processes. Furthermore, the associate will contribute to improving communication methods and processes to increase awareness of WFP's work.
Work Experience
Requires at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, multimedia, or digital production, or related fields.
