Organizational Context
This role is part of the WFP Chad Country Office, based in Farchana, and reports to the Head of the Field Office. The Programme Policy Officer will receive guidance and support from experienced professionals, focusing on programme or policy activities and analytical work of limited complexity within the humanitarian context.
Job Purpose
The Programme Policy Officer will support policy and programme activities to effectively meet food assistance needs in Chad. This involves managing the Programme team in Farchana, strengthening capacities of colleagues and partners in WFP systems, protection, PSEA, gender, and nutrition. The role ensures WFP operations adhere to guidelines, delivering timely assistance to beneficiaries. Key responsibilities include contributing to project development, providing project management support for straightforward programmes, maintaining data quality, researching policy issues, preparing reports, liaising with counterparts, and supporting partnership development and staff capacity building.
