Job Purpose
The Workforce Planning and Org Design Consultant will serve as a regional technical focal point, supporting Country Offices in designing, delivering, and monitoring strategic workforce plans and organizational structure reviews. This role involves conducting in-depth workforce analysis, identifying future needs and skill gaps, and developing practical organizational design options. The consultant will translate complex data into actionable recommendations for management, facilitating engagement with stakeholders across various levels and functions. The primary objective is to ensure WFP has the right people, with the necessary capabilities, in the right places to effectively deliver on its mission, contributing to the continuous improvement of workforce planning practices within the organization.
Responsibilities
The Workforce Planning and Org Design Consultant role at the World Food Programme (WFP) focuses on Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) and Organizational Alignment Reviews. This position supports Country Offices within a designated region by translating WFP's strategic priorities and operational needs into practical workforce plans and organizational structures. Key responsibilities include serving as a regional technical focal point for SWP, conducting in-depth workforce analysis using data and stakeholder input to identify current compositions, skills, future demands, and projected gaps. The consultant will analyze existing organizational setups and develop design options informed by these findings. They will translate complex analyses into clear insights and actionable recommendations for management decision-making. This involves supporting the development of short-, medium-, and long-term workforce plans and organizational designs, considering key actions, resource implications, and implementation strategies. Facilitating engagement with various stakeholders, coordinating data collection and validation, and monitoring the implementation of plans and recommendations are also crucial. The role contributes to the continuous improvement of SWP practices, tools, and knowledge sharing within WFP, requiring strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills in a dynamic, international environment.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, with at least 3 years focused on Strategic Workforce Planning, Organizational Design, or HR consulting. Essential skills include strong analytical, communication, and project management abilities. Additionally, at least 3 years of international experience, working in a multicultural environment or abroad, is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant data analysis/visualization tools is expected.
