Organizational Context

This initiative aims to strengthen their capacity to implement solutions that foster resilience and sustainability, progressively realizing the right to food in support of the National Development Plan.

Job Purpose

The Program Assistant - Agro-pastoral will provide technical accompaniment to communities in the implementation of productive units, focusing on food production for self-consumption and strengthening social fabric. This role is key to guiding activities that contribute to community sustainability, in line with WFP policies. The incumbent will support the consolidation of home gardens and the incorporation of produced food into family diets, working in coordination with the social manager. Responsibilities include monitoring agreements, overseeing the procurement of inputs, providing technical guidance to communities, accompanying institutional coordination visits, and reporting on activities. The position requires a secondary education completion and at least four years of experience in agricultural or livestock activities with communities or social inclusion projects.

Responsibilities

The role involves overseeing the implementation of productive units through agreements with cooperating partners, ensuring timely procurement of necessary supplies and tools for communities. A key responsibility is to review and enhance agricultural components of the project, aligning methodologies with household needs and partner work plans. The professional will provide ongoing technical support to communities, addressing specific needs and ensuring effective communication for timely actions and objective achievement. This includes accompanying institutional coordination visits and submitting monthly activity reports, or more frequently if required. The role also entails responding to monitoring alerts and escalated cases on the SUGAR platform by providing feedback and improvement actions to communities. Additionally, the professional will perform other duties inherent to the position or requested for the project's successful development. Minimum qualifications include secondary education, with a preference for a professional degree in agricultural sciences or related fields, and at least four years of experience in agricultural or livestock activities with communities or social inclusion projects. Fluency in Spanish is required, and knowledge of the Wayuunaiki language is desirable, especially for candidates belonging to the Wayúu ethnic group.

Requires at least four years of experience in agricultural, livestock, or agro-industrial activities, working with communities or social inclusion projects. Preference is given to candidates belonging to the Wayúu ethnic group who are fluent in the Wayuunaiki language.
