Job Purpose

The Human Resources Officer will support the delivery of professional, client-focused HR services within the WFP Bangladesh Country Office. This role involves partnering with managers to implement HR solutions aligned with corporate priorities, ensuring effective HR operational activities and projects. The officer will respond to staff and manager queries, administer conditions of service, and support staff capability building and onboarding. Additionally, the position contributes to talent management initiatives, organizational design activities, and the collation of data for accurate HR reporting and analysis. The aim is to enhance HR service effectiveness and support the achievement of WFP's strategic objectives through efficient and compliant HR practices.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Officer role at the World Food Programme (WFP) involves supporting the delivery of professional, client-focused HR services. Key responsibilities include assisting with HR operational activities and projects aligned with business needs and WFP policies. This involves responding to queries from managers and staff, ensuring correct application of HR policies, procedures, and systems. The role also entails administering conditions of service, contracts, and entitlements to effectively manage the employment relationship. Furthermore, the officer will support staff capability building by identifying skill gaps and organizing development solutions, and facilitate onboarding for new employees to ensure a positive integration experience. Building talent within WFP by supporting recruitment, retention, and development of a high-caliber workforce is another crucial aspect. The position also involves supporting organizational design activities to improve efficiency and contributing to accurate, timely HR reporting for informed decision-making. Basic data analysis under guidance is also expected to support process improvements.

Work Experience

Requires at least 5 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience (managerial or supervisory) in Human Resources. An interest in international humanitarian development is also needed. Of the 3 years of professional experience, at least 1 year must be post-graduation.
