Job Purpose
The Programme Associate (Climate Change, Resilient Food Systems) will provide essential support and technical analysis for WFP's climate change and resilient food systems initiatives, contributing to the effective implementation of Strategic Outcome 4 (SO4). This role involves coordinating business support services to ensure efficient delivery of unit activities and services. The incumbent will assist in tracking project deliverables, preparing reports and data analysis, and ensuring accurate data recording and consistency for stakeholders. Key responsibilities include liaising with internal and external counterparts, supporting project review meetings and workshops, and collaborating with vendors and partners. The role also entails providing administrative support, managing records and databases for procurements and fund disbursals, assisting with budget monitoring, and performing procurement functions. This position is crucial for strengthening adaptive capacities and climate-resilient food systems in India, aligning with WFP's global mission and the India Country Strategic Plan.
Responsibilities
The role involves supporting the efficient delivery of SO4 targets and objectives by providing support to SO4 operations, ensuring activities align with WFP policies and procedures, and tracking deliverables against milestones. Key responsibilities include preparing various reports and data analyses, highlighting trends and issues, and ensuring adherence to corporate standards. The position requires accurate and timely recording of programme-related data, consistency in information presented to stakeholders, and assistance in preparing briefing documents and periodic updates. Collaboration with internal counterparts, vendors, and state offices is crucial for effective project implementation and monitoring. The role also entails overseeing and reviewing the work of contracted field partners, providing guidance, and undertaking basic data analysis and research. Furthermore, the position offers administrative support to the SO4 Unit, including responding to operational business needs, liaising with HR and Finance, maintaining procurement and fund disbursal records, assisting with budget planning and reconciliation, and performing admissible procurement functions such as creating Purchase Requisitions and posting service entries in SAP. The role also involves coordinating with local partners, agencies, NGOs, and government institutions, and maintaining a database for correspondence.
Work Experience
Requires 6 years of progressive program or administrative support experience at national or international levels. At least 2 of these years must be with the UN, a multinational organization, or an international-multilateral organization.
