Job Purpose
The Partnerships Officer (Private Sector Engagement) will support WFP's efforts to mobilize resources, policy support, technical expertise, and innovative solutions from private sector entities for the implementation of WFP's Country Strategic Plan in the Philippines. This role involves identifying, developing, and maintaining strategic partnerships, conducting market research, and preparing proposals and agreements. Responsibilities
The Partnerships Officer plays a crucial role in managing and expanding the private sector partnership portfolio. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough partner profiling, market research, and gathering donor intelligence to inform outreach strategies and proposal development. The officer is tasked with identifying and engaging prospective private sector partners by preparing relevant materials and offering strategic recommendations. A significant part of the role involves analyzing partnership opportunities, emerging trends, and stakeholder engagement strategies to support informed decision-making by the Partnerships team and senior management. This includes preparing well-researched partnership proposals, strategic agreements, and presentations, ensuring alignment with WFP's standards and policies. The officer will also monitor the corporate social responsibility (CSR) environment for opportunities and risks, share partner intelligence, and manage inquiries from potential partners. Collaboration with technical colleagues is essential for developing quality proposals and briefing materials. Furthermore, the role requires considering the intersection of CSR and government engagement, soliciting input from intergovernmental work colleagues, and supporting the design and implementation of partner engagement and visibility activities. The officer also contributes to general resource mobilization efforts.
Work Experience
Requires at least three years of relevant postgraduate professional experience in partnerships, resource mobilization, private sector engagement, public affairs, or development cooperation. Demonstrated experience engaging with government, private sector, and multilateral/bilateral partners, preferably in Asia, is essential. A strong understanding of partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization strategies is necessary. Proven ability to identify and develop partnership opportunities, support fundraising, and manage external relationships is required. Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences and proficiency in digital tools for partnership development are also needed.
