Job Purpose
The Senior Data Management Assistant will lead the strategies and monitoring of programmatic and financial data management for WFP's livelihoods and resilience projects. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and efficient reporting on project implementation and results, utilizing effective systems and tools. The incumbent will contribute to reporting, support, and information processing in line with unit and project goals, as well as the Annual Operational Plan. Key responsibilities include supporting monitoring plans, providing technical guidance on data management to field teams, analyzing and consolidating data for reports and decision-making, preparing infographics and dashboards, and developing training for project teams and partners on data management best practices. The position also involves improving data quality and timeliness, generating tools for information systematization, and ensuring data security and compliance with WFP standards.
Responsibilities
The Senior Data Management Assistant will lead programmatic and financial data management strategies and monitoring for livelihood and resilience projects. This role involves supporting the implementation and supervision of monitoring plans, fund programming, and financial liability agreements (FLAs). The assistant will provide technical guidance to field teams, ensuring accurate data collection, consolidation, and reporting from cooperating partners and direct implementation activities. Responsibilities include organizing, analyzing, and validating qualitative and quantitative data to prepare reports, bulletins, and inform decision-making. The position requires creating infographics, reports, and dashboards to showcase project operations and evidence generation. A key duty is developing and implementing a training plan for project teams and partners on data collection, management, and utilization, emphasizing secure data exchange and WFP policies. The assistant will also monitor and propose improvements to data reporting mechanisms and quality from implementing entities and partners. Furthermore, they will develop agile tools to systematize information, monitor project repositories, and ensure consistency with project logical frameworks. The role involves managing information and responding to data-related queries, adhering to standard processes and supervisor guidance. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in database management, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and at least two years in financial monitoring, preferably within social or environmental projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data visualization, and database management is essential. Fluency in Spanish is required, with intermediate English proficiency being desirable.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in database management, including data structure creation, organized storage, and data integrity assurance. Also needs experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of experience in financial monitoring and tracking, preferably in social, environmental, or cooperation projects. Experience in preparing clear and understandable reports and presentations summarizing complex results is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software is required. Experience in environmental management, resilience, or climate change adaptation projects is also necessary.
