Job Purpose

The intern will support the Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) in its mission to investigate allegations of misconduct by WFP personnel and third parties. This role involves assisting in the technical and quality review of investigation reports, conducting legal research on administrative jurisprudence, and contributing to the development of OIGI's investigative framework. The intern will gain practical experience in preliminary complaint assessment, ongoing investigations, and report writing within a large international humanitarian organization. Responsibilities

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking an intern for its Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) in Rome, Italy. This role involves assisting in the technical and quality review of investigation reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency by examining evidence. The intern will also conduct legal research, particularly within the framework of UN agencies and ILOAT/UNDT/UNAT administrative jurisprudence. Responsibilities include aiding in the development of OIGI's internal investigative framework and supporting various aspects of investigative work, such as preliminary complaint assessments and ongoing investigations. The position requires the candidate to be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Law program. Desirable qualifications include prior investigation experience. The intern will work under the direct supervision of an Investigations Officer, receiving mentorship and technical guidance.
