Job Purpose
The Programme Policy Officer (Gender, Protection & School Feeding) will support WFP and the Government of Cameroon in strengthening the evidence base on the links between school feeding, gender equality, and educational outcomes. This role is crucial for advancing a gender-responsive national school feeding programme by leading research, analysis, and knowledge generation on barriers affecting girls’ education and the impact of school feeding. The officer will generate evidence and strategic insights to support resource mobilization, proposal development, and the design of gender-responsive programmes. Key responsibilities include conducting desk reviews, identifying barriers to girls' education, proposing improvements to monitoring frameworks, analyzing programme data, and developing evidence-based recommendations to integrate gender considerations into the National School Feeding Strategy. The role also involves supporting research activities, developing training materials, facilitating workshops, preparing knowledge products, and contributing to programme design and resource mobilization efforts.
Responsibilities
The School Feeding and Gender Officer will support the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Government of Cameroon in strengthening the evidence base on the connections between school feeding programs, gender equality, and educational outcomes. This role involves conducting research and analysis to identify barriers affecting girls' education and assessing how school feeding can help overcome them. The officer will also review and propose improvements to existing monitoring frameworks to ensure gender-responsiveness and analyze program data to identify trends and opportunities. Key responsibilities include developing evidence-based recommendations for integrating gender considerations into the National School Feeding Strategy, supporting research and data collection, and creating training materials for staff and stakeholders.
