Job Purpose

The Field Monitor (SSA Level 4) will play a crucial role in implementing the country office's Monitoring, Assessment, and Review (RAM) strategy and planning. This position is essential for supporting data collection, monitoring field activities, and ensuring the regular flow of information. The Field Monitor will work closely with functional teams and implementing partners to gather price data for food and non-food items, monitor food and cash-based distribution cycles, and assess the performance of health centers. Additionally, the role involves managing the Complaints Feedback Mechanism (CFM), liaising with internal counterparts for effective collaboration, and supporting the RAM team with training and workshop organization, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of field observations and issues.

Responsibilities

The Field Monitor (RAM) plays a vital role in implementing the country office's research, monitoring, and evaluation (RAM) strategy and planning. This position is crucial for supporting data collection, overseeing field activities, and regularly reporting information in close collaboration with functional teams and implementing partners. Key responsibilities include collecting prices of food and non-food items to track price fluctuations and product availability, monitoring planned food and CBT distributions to identify and report any issues, and assessing the performance of health centers. The Field Monitor will also manage the Complaints Feedback Mechanism (CFM), relaying beneficiary and partner feedback to relevant units for prompt decision-making. Additionally, they will liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration and project follow-up, support the RAM team in organizing training and workshops, and perform other related tasks as needed. This role requires strong data collection and analysis skills, an understanding of food security programs, and the ability to work accurately, collaboratively, and efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Work Experience

Requires at least four years of progressive experience in monitoring, research, or evaluations. Must possess knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, database management, and program design/implementation in food and nutrition security. Strong skills in precision, teamwork, effective communication, planning, prioritization, and using technology for monitoring are essential. Fluency in French is required, with good knowledge of the local language being beneficial.
