Organizational Context

Job Purpose

The Programme Associate (M&E) will play a crucial role in supporting WFP's mission in Armenia by providing strategic leadership and oversight for monitoring, accountability, and learning functions. This position is essential for ensuring that WFP's programmes are evidence-based and aligned with organizational priorities, contributing to the goal of saving lives and changing lives towards zero hunger. The role involves coordinating monitoring activities, providing technical expertise for evidence generation, and acting as a focal point for gender and disability inclusion. The Programme Associate will also support programme staff in understanding the impacts of assistance, identifying partnership opportunities, and collecting and analyzing data to inform operational decision-making. Furthermore, the position holder will be responsible for coordinating capacity-building initiatives for government stakeholders and cooperating partners, enhancing their monitoring and accountability capacities, and fostering nationalization and local ownership of WFP's initiatives.

Responsibilities

The Programme Associate (M&E) will be instrumental in overseeing monitoring, accountability, and learning functions within the World Food Programme's operations in Armenia. This role involves coordinating country-level monitoring activities and providing technical expertise for evidence generation. A key responsibility is serving as the focal point for gender and disability inclusion, ensuring these aspects are integrated into program design and implementation. The associate will support program staff in understanding the impacts of assistance, identifying potential partnerships to enhance nationalization and local ownership, and collecting, compiling, and analyzing data to inform operational decisions. They will verify planned assistance, report discrepancies, and coordinate capacity-building initiatives for government stakeholders, cooperating partners, and internal teams to strengthen monitoring and accountability practices. This position is crucial for ensuring programs are evidence-based, aligned with organizational goals, and contribute to WFP's mission of saving lives and changing lives towards zero hunger, while fostering gender equality, inclusion, and protection.

Work Experience

Requires at least six years of progressive work experience in database management, statistical analyses, visualization, and design. Experience in monitoring and research of agricultural projects is also necessary. The role involves working with technical teams, contributing to program implementation, and observing/assisting with policy discussions.
