Responsibilities
The role involves leading emergency preparedness and rapid response coordination, ensuring minimum standards are met, and strengthening analysis of refugee influxes for timely responses. It includes operational coordination with UNCHR and CNARR. A key responsibility is supporting the delivery of high-quality emergency assistance and programmatic transitions, focusing on effective targeting, beneficiary management, and digital delivery systems. This entails a shift from status-based to vulnerability-based assistance, creating pathways from emergency response to resilience-building for refugees and host communities. The position contributes to operational analysis, evidence generation, and strategic reporting through needs assessments, monitoring, and donor reporting to inform decision-making and resource mobilization. Facilitating humanitarian coordination and reinforcing government collaboration, particularly with the Food Security cluster and CNARR, is also crucial. The role supports project development and management, ensuring alignment with WFP standards, and developing data gathering and monitoring systems with rigorous quality standards. It involves researching policy and operational issues, preparing timely reports, liaising with counterparts for collaboration, and managing potential partnerships. Capacity building of staff, partners, and government for food assistance response is supported, along with guiding junior staff. The overall aim is to save lives in emergencies while enabling vulnerable populations to progressively reduce their reliance on humanitarian aid.
Work Experience
Requires 3 years of professional experience in Programme, particularly in emergency areas. Candidates should have deepened technical knowledge through exposure to technical teams, taken leadership in implementing programmes, and provided input into policy discussions and decisions.
