Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI), part of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), is responsible for conducting inspections and investigations into allegations of wrongdoing and misconduct. The primary goal is to establish facts and gather sufficient evidence to determine if reported allegations are substantiated. If misconduct is confirmed, the findings enable WFP management to take appropriate actions against responsible individuals or entities. These investigations can involve WFP personnel, partner organizations, vendors, and other external parties. The internship role specifically focuses on integrating AI services into these investigative processes. Responsibilities include developing AI and machine learning models on Microsoft Azure, coding and scripting with Python, Java, and HTML for workflow automation and data processing, and designing automation processes using Microsoft Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps. The intern will also support API integrations, assist in AI model deployment projects using Azure services, perform data analysis, generate reports from AI outputs, and document development processes. Building mapping and processing workflows to enhance operational efficiency is also a key duty. Work Experience
This is an internship position. Standard minimum qualifications include currently being enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or being a recent graduate within six months of application. Candidates must have completed at least two years of an undergraduate program if applicable. Excellent written and spoken English is required, with proficiency at a C level. Working knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
